Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, the son of Priscilla Presley, recently addressed questions surrounding his decision to launch a GoFundMe campaign to help start an affordable organic pizza business from his driveway. The 39-year-old musician said the fundraiser was created to cover the remaining cost of equipment while he continues to invest his own money into the project.
After some social media users questioned why he did not ask his famous mother for financial help, Garcia responded through Instagram. Commenting on his original video, he wrote, “Haters gonna hate,” and explained that many people misunderstood his situation.
“I’m sure I’ll have to explain this many more times to ignorant people who think I should ‘ask my mom’ or that I have money … YEAH, I also have a lot of bills, I also have a budget,” Garcia shared.
The frontman of the band Them Guns explained that he carefully manages his finances and cannot invest all his savings into every new idea. He added, “If I just went all in every time I thought I had a great idea … I’d be broke in 2 days.”
Garcia also noted that he supports causes such as homelessness and does not want people to donate money they cannot afford to give. As part of the fundraiser, he offered free pizza to those who contributed.
Plans for an Organic Pizza Business

Instagram | pagesix | Navarone Garcia defended his driveway pizza GoFundMe, choosing self-funding over asking his mom for help.
According to Garcia’s GoFundMe description, he had already purchased ingredients and prepared the pizza dough and sauces needed for the business. The main expense left was a conventional pizza oven, which would help him begin operations.
He explained that he was contributing $3,000 of his own funds toward the oven and was only seeking assistance for the remaining amount outside his budget. Garcia said the goal was to raise $5,500, and the fundraiser had collected $2,880 by Sunday afternoon.
Several supporters defended his decision, with one person commenting that Garcia may simply be trying to build something independently rather than rely on his family.
Priscilla Presley, 81, shares Navarone Garibaldi Garcia with screenwriter Marco Garibaldi, 71. The couple dated from 1984 until 2006.
Priscilla was also the mother of Lisa Marie Presley, who died in January 2023 at age 54. Lisa Marie passed away due to complications from a small bowel obstruction connected to earlier bariatric surgery.
Lisa Marie Presley was the daughter of Priscilla and Elvis Presley. The couple married in 1967 and divorced in 1973.
Navarone Garibaldi Garcia’s pizza project shows his effort to create a small business while handling his own expenses. His fundraiser aims to cover a specific need, while he continues to invest his own resources into bringing the idea to life.
